<h6><strong>The Diplomat</strong></h6> <h4> <strong>The lawyer Héctor Infante is Panama's new ambassador to Spain, replacing Itzel Patiño, who had only been in our country since January, having been appointed by the previous Panamanian president, Laurentino Cortizo.</strong></h4> In turn, Itzel Patiño had taken over from Allen Jackson Sellers, who had been in the post for less than a year, meaning that in less than two years, Panama will have had three different ambassadors in Madrid. The new Panamanian head of state, José Raúl Mulino, who took office on 1 July, has made numerous changes in Panama's various embassies around the world, and just a few days ago, his foreign minister, Javier Martínez Acha, handed over credentials to eleven new ambassadors, including Héctor Infante. Héctor Infante, who will soon take up his post in Madrid, is the son of the well-known lawyer of the same name, founder of the law firm Infante & Pérez Almillano (IPAL), and has been a partner in the corporate and fiduciary law department since May. The new ambassador is an expert in corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, banking law, regulated sectors, litigation and arbitration, estate planning and fiduciary law. He has advised local and foreign companies from various industries in the establishment of their operations in Panama, as well as multinational companies, family offices and individual entrepreneurs in the creation of complex estate planning structures, foreign investment, drafting and negotiation of financial agreements, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions and litigation and arbitration, together with the litigation and arbitration department. He holds a law degree from Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua, an MBA in Business and Finance from George Washington University (USA); an Advanced Law Firm Leadership Program from Harvard University; a certificate in Business Administration for Lawyers from Incae Business School (Costa Rica); advanced studies in Fiduciary Administration from the International Banking Institute - Panama Banking Association; a diploma in Estate Planning from Columbia Business School (USA), and a diploma in Finance from Universidad de los Andes.
