The Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, yesterday offered the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Guy Kabombo Muadiamvita, the possibilities of the Spanish Defense industry and addressed with her Congolese counterpart, Guy Kabombo Muadiamvita, the possibility of collaborating in industrial matters.

Robles received at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense a delegation from the Democratic Republic of the Congo that is on an official visit to Spain, headed by Guy Kabombo Muadiamvita, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the country.

During the meeting, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defense, “the high quality of the Spanish Defense industry was highlighted, which received praise from the Congolese.”

In this sense, the Ministry continued, the meeting has served to strengthen ties and to “exchange impressions on the possibility of future collaborations in industrial matters.” The Spanish Defense industry is “at a time of great impact and appreciation at an international level, and with the capacity to propose industrial solutions adapted to the needs that may arise,” said the Department headed by Robles.

As a sign of this interest, it recalled, a delegation from the Congolese Ministry of Defense was present at the International Defense and Security Fair in Spain (FEINDEF) in 2023.

The meeting was attended by the ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Genevieve Victorine Lukusa, among other members of her cabinet. Robles was accompanied by the Chief of the Defense Staff, Admiral General Teodoro López Calderón, and the Secretary General of Defense Policy, Admiral Juan Francisco Martínez Núñez.
