From next Wednesday to October 11, Casa América presents the photographic exhibition No me olvides (Don’t forget me), by Ximena Borrazás, made up of 22 photographs that seek to bring together the stories and situations of people who cross migratory routes fleeing dramatic situations in search of a better life.

Photographer Ximena Borrazás portrays the testimonies of some of the 71 migrants rescued in the central Mediterranean by the Basque humanitarian ship “Aita Mari” and also pictures of their trip to Ethiopia in May this year, In which he documented the humanitarian crisis in Tigray and the migration routes.

Ximena Borrazás is a documentary photographer born in Uruguay who focuses her work on the coverage of armed conflicts, human rights violations and migratory and humanitarian crises. He has published his work in relevant international media, including National Geographic, The Guardian, BBC and DW.

The exhibition is co-organized with the Embassy of Uruguay and UNIR University. Tomorrow, Tuesday, coinciding with the opening of the exhibition, there will be a dialogue linked to the exhibition in which the photographer author of the exhibition will participate; Manuel Sánchez Moreno, director of the Master’s degree in Development Cooperation and NGO Management of UNIR; Pablo Martínez Muñiz, director of the Master of Artistic Photography at UNIR;  and a representative of UNHCR.
