As part of the Summer Cinema, the Instituto Francés deMadrid is screening tonight at 9.30 pm the dramatic comedy Perro Ferroz by Jean-Baptiste Durand. Screening in French with subtitles in Spanish.
The film features Anthony Bajon, Galatéa Bellugi, Raphaël Quenard and Dominique Reymond.
The film explores the daily life of a group of young people in a disadvantaged neighbourhood of Marseille. The same title refers to the nickname given to one of the young people in the neighbourhood. The film focuses on the special relationship that this young man has with his friend, showing both social marginalization and camaraderie and solidarity in an environment often stigmatized. The director opts for an intimate approach to capture the lives of these young people, mixing tender moments with sometimes harsh realities. It offers a deep reflection on the challenges and dreams of young people in working-class neighborhoods, while addressing universal themes such as friendship, family and hope.
In concrete terms, Lobo Feroz tells how Dog and Mirales, two childhood friends, live in a small town in the south of France and spend their days without doing much. To kill time, Mirales is dedicated to teasing Dog mercilessly. But this summer will be different: Dog meets Elsa and falls in love with her. Jealousy drives Mirales away, but the distance that is created between the two friends will allow them to grow and develop their own personality. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
