On October 10, the first edition of the Virtus Awards will be held in Miami, awarded by Latin Trade magazine, specialized in the business world in Latin America and the Caribbean, and with which it seeks to recognize and distinguish transformative leadership in Latin America.
Among the winners in this first edition, which will bring together more than 200 influential leaders, are Paraguayan President Santiago Peña (as ‘Leader of the Year’); Sergio Díaz-Granados, president of CAF (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean); Marcos Molina, president of the board of Marfrig & BRF; Pablo Bedoya, president of Banco Nacional de Bolivia; Roberto Tadros, president of the National Confederation of Commerce of Products, Services and Tourism of Brazil; and the ‘Allies for Water’ initiative of Coca-Cola Latam.
Prizes will be awarded in several categories: ‘Leader of the Year’, to recognize government figures who have demonstrated a firm commitment to promoting development and openness from the region to the world; ‘Visionary Leader of the Year’, which rewards those who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting progress and positive change in Latin America; and ‘CEO of the Year’, for executives who embody exceptional leadership and innovation practices that set new standards in the industry and generate a positive impact on the economy and society.
The award also includes the categories ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, for leaders whose impact and contributions throughout their professional lives have left a mark on their industry, community or country; ‘Innovative Leadership of the Year’, which recognizes those companies, leaders or initiatives that have forged new benchmarks in innovation, significantly advancing their industry or environment; ‘Impact Leadership of the Year’, which rewards executives, companies or initiatives committed to growth through vectors such as environmental management, social responsibility and economic viability, setting precedents in sustainable business practices; and, finally, ‘Financial Executive of the Year’, which honors an exceptional executive in the financial world whose strategic vision and management skills have generated a significant impact on the economic growth and financial stability of their country.
