The Diplomat The diplomat Juan Manglano Aboín will be the Chief of Staff of the new Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Xavier Martí, who was appointed to the post last week. Juan Manglano was one of Xavier Martí's collaborators, in the General Directorate of Spaniards Abroad and Consular Affairs, where he held the position of Deputy Director General of Consular Legal Affairs for just over a year. Previously, Manglano, who entered the Diplomatic Service in 2010, was posted to the Permanent Representation of Spain to the United Nations, in Geneva; in Jakarta, where he was in charge of the Consulate; and in Nairobi, where he held the second position in charge of the Embassy in Kenya. Juan Manglano replaces Luis Ángel Redondo, who has been appointed deputy director general of personnel, after having been for several months chief of staff of the then undersecretary of Foreign Ministry, Luis Cuesta.
