The Real Fábrica de Tapices (RFT) and the College of Silk Arts in Valencia will inaugurate the exhibition Real Fábrica de Tapices: 300 Years of History. Five Valencian artists in the RFT. The event will take place on Thursday, September 19 at 11.30 am in the headquarters of the College (Hospital street, 7).
The exhibition highlights the presence of five relevant painters from Valencia who worked in the RFT since the 18th century to the present: Mariano Salvador Maella, Manuel Benedito, Manuel Valdés, Elena del Rivero and Francisco José Amérigo. Among the works on display, two recently restored cartons of this last author stand out, which are exhibited for the first time, along with several sketches for carpet of the artist that the Real Fábrica de Tapices has recently acquired in auction.
In addition to the cardboard and sketches, the exhibition will bring together a selection of 70 representative pieces from the RFT’s III Centenary commemorative exhibition, such as tapestries, carpets, The Department of Education and Science is responsible for the preparation of the Information Society, the Information Society and the Information Society.
This exhibition has already been held in other museums of great importance: the General Archive of the Indies in Seville, the Centre for Histories in Zaragoza, the Revellín Museum in Ceuta, the Cathedral of Burgo de Osma and the Palace of La Magdalena in Santander.
