The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends Spanish citizens on its website to leave Lebanon in view of the “general context of instability”.

“Spaniards who are in Lebanon, especially if their stay is temporary, are recommended to leave the country using existing commercial means,” reads the update published this Sunday by the Ministry in its travel recommendations.

It also recalls that in the last few hours the suspension of flights to or from Lebanon has been announced, so it recommends that you consult with the airlines concerned “the possibility of changes in schedules or flight cancellations”.

“It is recommended to remain attentive to the social networks and other means of communication of the Spanish Embassy in Beirut,” the Spanish Embassy in Beirut also published on its account on the social network X.

The Ministry also advises against all travel south of the Litani River, near the border with Israel, as well as in the Bekaa region as “particularly dangerous” places. It also warns that “violence, including armed violence, and protests may occur anywhere in Lebanon, and therefore it is recommended that demonstrations and crowds should be avoided”.

Israeli retaliatory attacks in Lebanon have claimed the lives of some 490 people and injured more than 1,500, according to the Lebanese authorities.
