International tourist arrivals and tourist spending in Spain continued their upward trend this summer. Spain received 42.5 million international tourists during the first six months of the year, 13.3% more than in the same period last year. These tourists increased their spending by 20.6%, exceeding 55,500 million euros.

The United Kingdom is the country that exported the most international tourists during these six months, with almost 8.5 million, 10.1% more than the figures for the previous year, according to data from the Statistics on Tourist Movements at Borders (Frontur) published yesterday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

They are followed by German tourists, with 5.55 million (10.9%) and French tourists, with 5.44 million (12.9%). However, the highest growth was recorded among tourists coming from countries outside Europe and America, where growth reached 25.8%, up to 2.5 million euros.
