Since the opening of the doors of ninth edition on 27 June of Cibeles de Cine, more than 7,000 spectators have already passed through the CentroCentro’s Crystal Gallery. Now, this usual appointment of the summer nights in Madrid prepares a varied programming of August, which can be enjoyed mainly in subtitled original version.
The new festival includes several must-see classics, among which stand out those that celebrate their anniversaries: Sucedió una noche (90th anniversary), La diligencia (85th anniversary) and The third man (75th anniversary). And cult cinema reference with the projection of the already iconic One of our, Dirty Dancing, La La Land, Blade Runner, The Shining, All About My Mother, Reservoir Dogs, Terminator 2 or The Journey of Chihiro.
The most acclaimed independent and author films by critics and audiences during the season will also have their space: Pobres Criaturas, Hasta el fin del mundo, La quimera, Perfect Days, Fallen Leaves, We’ll always have tomorrow or the exclusive pre-release of The Sweet East. Not to mention the national talent with titles like La casa, La estrella azul or Casa en llamas.
Also on the programme are the upcoming summer hits, still to be released, such as Twisters (Lee Isaac Chung), La Trampa (M. Night Shyamalan), Volveréis (Jonás Trueba), Blink twice (Zoe Kravitz) or Lost Island (Fernando Trueba). To which you have to add other great hits of the summer as El Especialista, Bikeriders: la ley del asfalto, Rivales or Fly Me To The Moon.
Family sessions will continue to be held on Saturdays, will be dubbed in Spanish and will include titles that combine recent films with the nostalgia of the 80’s: Los Goonies, Del revés 2, The Princess Bride or Robot Dreams.
