The Italian Embassy has published a book that covers the main promotional activities carried out in Spain during 2022, including economic diplomacy initiatives, cultural, scientific and sporting: for each of them the contributions of the entities and partners with whom the diplomatic headquarters collaborated are collected.
The volume also contains a summary of what was promoted in 2023. Special QR codes are also used to access audiovisual material.
The former Italian ambassador, Riccardo Guariglia, states in the introduction of the book that “to tour the main integrated and cultural promotion activities organized and/or promoted by the Italian Embassy in Madrid during 2022, the final year of the pandemic, allows us to relive the emotions and some of the most significant moments in which we have tried to diversify as much as possible the Italian and Spanish partners, establishing new collaborations and synergies and extending the scope of the Embassy’s activities beyond the consolidated ‘binary’ Madrid-Barcelona”.
“The main areas of intervention, stresses the ambassador, were music, art, history, design, fashion, gastronomy, the Mediterranean diet, sport (an area in which the Embassy in Madrid has taken a pioneering role), economic promotion and Rome’s candidacy for Expo 2030, science and innovation and space.”
This book is the result of an idea by Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia and is developed, organized and edited by Roberto Nocella, head of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Italian Embassy in Madrid, The Italian Ministry of Education and Science has been responsible for coordinating integrated Italian promotion in Spain. The collection of articles was made possible by the first secretary, Teodora Danisi, responsible for the cultural promotion of the Embassy with a graphic project by SPR/MSH Marcello Conta Design Studio.
