Last Saturday, July 20, the ambassador of the Dominican Republic, Juan Bolívar Díaz, was honored by the Dominican Diaspora from the province of León, Castile and León, because of his career, social, cultural and diplomatic work and contributions to democracy in the Dominican Republic.
In the emotional ceremony that took place in the Alfonso V auditorium of the city hall of León, The head of Dominican diplomacy in Spain was honored in the presence of the city’s mayor, José Antonio Díez, and the councilor, Álvaro Paula Álvarez. Marlie Santana, third secretary in charge of development cooperation at the Embassy, members of citizen participation, civil protection, security and firefighters of the city also attended.
The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Franklin García Fermín; the Dominican Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Dr. Juan Bautista Durán; Dominican Consul in the Canary Islands, Katia Castillo; Juan Gabriel Díaz Wiscovitch and Sarah Melissa Díaz Pérez, son and granddaughter of Ambassador Díaz, among others, sent virtual congratulatory messages.
During the day, Ambassador Díaz held a meeting with the mayor of León, in the City Hall of San Marcelo, where they discussed issues of common interest.
