With the collaboration of the Instituto Italiano de Cultura in Madrid and the Embassy of Italy, the Veranos de la Villa de Madrid present the next 31 July and 1 August at 22 hours, The Italian blucinQue troupe, presenting their latest work, Puccini Dance Circus Opera, per coro di corpi e strumenti.
This Troupe was founded by the choreographer Caterina Mochi Sismondi in 2018. Since then, the author and artistic director of the Teatro Café Müller in Turin, where the company is based, has done various choreographic works around figures such as Fellini or Puccini.
Around the characteristics and personalities of the five figures of Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Manon Lescaut, Turandot and Mimí, blucinQue builds a show that revolves around movement and the use of space in this «body choir» -in the absence of bel canto in its traditional form- together musical scores with electronic interferences-, aerial and terrestrial choreographies and glimpses of text and fragmented and oneiric images. These female figures are not only icons of the composer’s performances, but also real women known to Puccini himself, portrayed on stage by actor Ivan Ieri and his «reflection», and images of a world that still evokes the reflection on the female identity of our time.
