Last week saw the release of the remake of the 1996 box-office hit Twisters, with a chilling big screen ride that triggers an adrenaline rush and puts you in direct contact with one of nature’s most wonderful and destructive forces.
This new film about the tornadoes that annually ravage the lands of Oklahoma, comes from the producers of the series Jurassic, Bourne and Indiana Jones. Twisters is directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the screenwriter and director nominated for an Oscar for Minari. My Family Story, starring Golden Globe Nominated Actress Daisy Edgar-Jones (The Wild Girl, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces coming together to try to predict and whether it is possible to control the immense power of tornadoes.
Edgar-Jones plays Kate Cooper, a former storm hunter obsessed with a devastating tornado encounter during her college years. Now he studies storm patterns from the safety of his screens in New York, safe from danger. But her friend Javi takes her to the plains to try a new tracking system. There she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social media superstar who enjoys posting her storm chase adventures with her raucous team. And the more dangerous the storms, the better.
As the storm season intensifies, never-before-seen terrifying phenomena are unleashed. Kate, Tyler and their competing teams will encounter multiple storm systems converging over downtown Oklahoma as they fight for their lives.
