Julio García/Eduardo González The groups of the European People's Party (EPP) and the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) in the European Parliament have appointed a total of eight Spanish MEPs, from both groups, as coordinators of different committees of the European Parliament. The Spanish coordinators of the EPP Group in committees of the European Parliament are Nicolás Pascual from the Party, Security and Defense; Gabriel Mato, Fishing; and Alma Ezcurra Almansa, Petitions The Spanish S&D coordinators in European Parliament committees are Jonás Fernández, Economic and Monetary Affairs; Sandra Gómez López, Petitions; Juan Fernando López Aguilar, Constitutional Affairs; Marcos Ros Sempere, Regional Development; and Nacho Sánchez Amor, Foreign Affairs. In addition, yesterday the members who will make up each of the permanent committees and subcommittees of the European Parliament for the tenth legislature were announced. The 60 Spanish MEPs will be distributed among the twenty committees and four subcommittees. The election of the presidents and vice-presidents of each of them will take place in their respective constitutive sessions, next Tuesday in Brussels. The decision announced yesterday before the plenary session includes the regular members. MEPs can also serve as substitutes in other committees, which gives them the right to attend meetings, speak and, in the absence of regular members, participate in voting. The Spanish MEPs have been distributed as follows: in the Foreign Affairs Committee (79 members), Antonio López-Istúriz and Francisco José Millán (PPE), Hana Jalloul and Nacho Sánchez Amor (S&D) and Hermann Tertsch (Patriots for Europe). In the Development Commission (25 members), Rosas Estaràs (PPE), Leire Pajín (S&D), Ana Miranda (Greens/ALE) and Israbel Serra (The Left). In the International Trade Commission (43 members) there will be Gabriel Mato and Juan Ignacio Zoido (PPE), Javier Moreno (S&D) and Hermann Tertsch Patriots for Europe). In the Budget Commission (40 members), Isabel Benjumea and Fernando Navarrete (PPE) and Sandra Gómez López (S&D). In the Budgetary Control Commission (30 members), Esteban González Pons (PPE) and José Cepeda (S&D). In the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (60 members) there will be Isabel Benjumea and Fernando Navarrete (PPE), Jonás Fernández (S&D) and Jorge Martín Frías (Patriots for Europe).
