The Diplomat
Yesterday, the Council of Ministers authorized the modification of the limits to acquire budget spending commitments by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to enable the call for study aid scholarships and internship scholarships at the Diplomatic School in the period 2024-2025.
The measure will allow the Diplomatic School to grant three types of scholarships: study aid, for internships in the Department’s central services and for internships in Spanish representations abroad.
The scholarships are intended for people of Spanish nationality who have been admitted, or who have passed, the Master of Continuing Training in Diplomacy and International Relations taught by the Diplomatic School, as well as students who are in possession of the title of ‘Master in Diplomacy and International Public Service’, taught at the CEI-Private Foundation Center for International Studies.
In the General State Budgets for the year 2024, the Training Scholarships budget application is provided with an initial credit of 482,810 euros (the main item is the 248,040 euros allocated for internships in the central services of the department; in addition, 97,700 euros will be allocated for internships abroad and 87,750 euros for study aid).
The commitments to be acquired applicable to the year 2025 are estimated at an amount of 413,990 euros, while those corresponding to 2024 are estimated at 19,500 euros (entirely for study aid). For this reason, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested authorization to modify the limits for acquiring spending commitments, charged to future years, in the Training Scholarships budget application. Finally, the Council of Ministers authorized the operation yesterday.
