The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Latin America and the Caribbean has signed an agreement with the Alliance for Ibero-America Business Council (CEAPI) to strengthen the Ibero-American business fabric; promote dialogue with political and institutional leaders; promote innovation and public-private collaboration and support the fundamental role of women and youth in the development of businesses and society.
The agreement seeks to promote joint activities that promote the economic and sustainable development of companies in Ibero-America, as well as the participation of both organizations in a series of events in the areas of governance, legal security and public-private dialogue.
The president of CEAPI, Núria Vilanova, highlighted after signing the agreement the importance of contributing to the development of Ibero-America and the importance of the joint efforts with the UNDP to achieve this. “It is essential to boost the economy through policies that promote the strengthening of the role of the private sector. Public-private collaboration; the consolidation of the energy transition; human mobility; social inclusion and sustainable tourism in Latin America are paths that we have undertaken at CEAPI because we believe in the opportunity that the current geostrategic moment has for the region,” stated Vilanova.
“At UNDP, we are forging alliances and promoting multi-stakeholder dialogue to strengthen democracy and respect for human rights, protect the environment and promote inclusive and sustainable growth. This agreement with CEAPI seeks to enhance the role of the private sector in the construction of an Ibero-American space with more just, prosperous and resilient societies in an increasingly interconnected and complex world,” said Michelle Muschett, UNDP regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean.
