The Spanish choral group Mocedades and the Mexican Mariachi Vargas will give a concert at the Teatro Real in Madrid next Saturday 20 July at 9 p.m. Mexico and Spain come together in an exceptional concert, where two icons of Hispanic music with international careers will meet on stage.
Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, with more than 125 years of history, is recognised as the best mariachi in the world, made up of more than 15 musicians under the direction of maestro Carlos Martínez. Throughout its history, Mariachi Vargas has collaborated with Mexican music legends such as José Alfredo Jiménez, Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante. Currently, they have been working for years with the famous Mexican artist Luis Miguel, with whom they have toured and recorded several albums.
For their part, Mocedades is the most influential vocal group in the Spanish-speaking world, with more than 56 years of history. Founded by Izaskun Uranga, who continues to lead the group, Mocedades has left an indelible mark on Spanish-language music. Their hit Eres Tú has been recognised by Billboard magazine as one of the best songs in the history of Spanish music. Other hits include Amor de Hombre, ¿Quién Te Cantará?, Tómame o Déjame, Secretaria, Le Llamaban Loca and their most recent unreleased work, Peregrina. Together, Mocedades and Mariachi Vargas will offer a unique and intimate evening, full of the highest musical and vocal standards, uniting two cultures, two countries and two hearts: Mexico and Spain. This tour, called Eres Tour, will tour three countries in 2024: Mexico, at the Auditorio Nacional; Los Angeles; and Madrid, at the Teatro Real. Tickets are on sale at this link.
