The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, yesterday condemned the “brutal Russian attack” against the Okhmatdet children’s hospital in Kyiv, one of the main pediatric centers in Ukraine.
“We condemn the brutal Russian attack on Ukrainian civilians. Our thoughts are with the victims,” Albares declared through the social network X. “The cruel bombing of the Okhmatdet children’s hospital in Kyiv reminds us of the need to reinforce our commitment to Ukraine,” he added.
The children’s hospital in Ukraine was one of the most damaged places after a series of attacks across the country, which left at least 31 dead, Ukrainian authorities reported. In Kyiv alone, at least 19 people died during a Russian attack on the city in broad daylight. Two of the victims lost their lives in the hospital. The president of Ukraine, Volodimyr Zelenskyi, declared from Poland – where he signed a security agreement yesterday – that Russia must pay the consequences for its attacks against civilians.
