The Teatro del Barrio in Madrid (Calle Zurita, 20) revives Los que hablan, with the renowned actors Malena Alterio and Luis Bermejo, and directed by Pablo Rosal.
Tens of thousands of people have already seen this production, which vindicates the value of words, and this summer it will be at Teatro del Barrio, which produces the play, from 17 to 21 July.
Los que hablan arose as a reaction to an era, the present one, in which the word has simply lost its integrity and its action. “We could consider, with the supreme irresponsibility that is the banner of our present-day usage, taking part in this barbarism, in this coven, in this, like that, burning of books, and, well charged with cynicism, opportunism and any other ruse, perpetrate more entertainment for the enjoyment of the hapless civilisation. But in an unknown gesture, always towards the unknown, we propose with an extemporaneous audacity to allow the divine of the word to be reborn in our lives forced to disbelieve”, Rosal expressed in the play’s programme. In this way he vindicated his will to “re-signify the word with an innocence born in the 21st century, that’s what we are preparing ourselves for”. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
