After the success of En tierra extraña, Teatro La Latina returns to recreate the Spanish songbook with the play El novio de España, which will be on stage from tomorrow Wednesday until 28 July. This is another opportunity to recreate the past, this time with the Spanish singers and actors Luis Mariano and Carmen Sevilla.

El novio de España is a musical comedy written and directed by Juan Carlos Rubio, with Julio Awad as musical director and composer. Christian EscuREdo (not Escudero), Carmen Raigón, Didac Flores and the special collaboration of Carmen Morales are in the play.

The play is set in 1952, during the shooting of the film Violetas imperiales, starring the unforgettable Luis Mariano and Carmen Sevilla, the central characters of this production, which is a tribute to love, freedom and the most unforgettable songs of the Spanish heritage. It is a reflection of the conflict of all those political exiles after the Spanish Civil War who could not return to their homeland. Luis Mariano wants his parents, exiled in France, to be able to return to their land, but they have no passport. But they don’t have a passport. Will he be able to do it with Carmen’s help? A show with wonderful songs and a great story of love and friendship. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
