The Apostolic Nuncio in Spain, Monsignor Bernardito Auza, urged not to fall into pessimism and to maintain hope to face the challenges of our time. He did so during the reception he offered on Thursday at the Apostolic Nunciature to celebrate Pope’s Day, on the occasion of the Feast of Saints Peter and Saint Paul which is celebrated this Saturday.
Present at the reception were the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Luis Cuesta; the Ombudsman, Ángel Gabilondo; numerous ambassadors of the Diplomatic Corps, of which the Nuncio is dean; cardinals, bishops and other guests.
In a brief intervention, Monsignor Bernardito Auza pointed out that “Pope Francis’ concerns about the world in which we live are challenges that we all share.”
The Nuncio admitted that in the moments of uncertain future that we live in, it is easy to fall into discouragement and pessimism, but he stated that “hope leads us to recognize the goodness present in our world and gives us the necessary strength to face the challenges of our world.” time”.
He concluded by telling those present: “Pope Francis blesses you all, your families, colleagues and friends. And he also asks us all: Please pray for me.”
After his words, the Pontifical, Spanish and European hymns were performed, as well as the Alleluia of Handel’s Messiah.
