As part of the In Scena a Palazzo cycle, and on the occasion of the celebration of Music Day on 21 June, to conclude the academic year, the Instituto Italiano de Cultura in Madrid will host a concert by Moira Cauzzo (in the photo) and Lorenzo Rovati, who will perform together with Professor Antonia Valente in the Institute’s Theatre (Calle Mayor, 86) next Friday at 7.30 pm. The three protagonists of the evening will offer a musical performance with two violins and a piano.

The concert programme includes Antonin Dvorak and his Mazurek, Op.49; Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky and his Valse Scherzo; Fritz Kreisler, Liebesleid; Ottorino Respighi, Romanza; The Sonata by Richard Strauss, and 5 pieces for two violins and a piano, by Dimitri Shostakovich.

Moira Cauzzo began playing the violin at the age of three under the direction of Anna Modesti Cavadini. She studied with Marco Rizzi in the junior section of the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland and, since 2022, has been studying in his class at the Telefónica Violin Chair of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid.

Lorenzo Rovati graduated with the highest grades at the Conservatorio di Musica “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Music in Milan and perfected his studies with Felice Cusano at the Scuola di Musica in Fiesole and then at the “Hochschule fuer Musik” in Nuremberg, where he obtained his Bachelor and Master’s degrees under the direction of Daniel Gaede. He plays the role of Primo Violino di Spalla in numerous orchestras and since 2023 he has been a member of the Utopia orchestra conducted by Teodor Currentzis, with which he tours the most prestigious concert halls in Europe.

A passionate chamber musician, Antonia Valente has acquired over the years a significant experience as a collaborator of several soloists of the international scene both in the instrumental and Lied repertoire. She has played regularly with the Colombian soprano Betty Garcés, in duo with Antonio Anselmi, her great mentor who died prematurely, as well as in numerous musical projects as a pianist in various ensembles.

Free admission with prior reservation until full capacity is reached. To participate it is necessary to send an email to confirmaciones.iicmadrid@gmail.com, indicating name, surname and contact telephone number of all the people for whom the reservation is made. Indicate in the subject “Concert 28/06”.
