Applications are now open for the IV Literary Residence Grant in Madrid, organised by the Embassy of Portugal and Camões, Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, in collaboration with DGLAB – Direção Geral do Livros e das Bibliotecas and the Residencia de Estudiantes.
The Literary Residence Grant consists of a one-month stay for a Portuguese author in the Spanish capital, Madrid, at the historic Residencia de Estudiantes, Spain’s first cultural centre, which since 1910 has hosted figures such as Federico García Lorca and Salvador Dalí. During this stay, the author will have the opportunity to work on a new literary project, according to a plan previously presented and approved by the organisers.
