The former President of the Government, Felipe González, attended yesterday a lunch offered at the headquarters of the Gibraltarian Government, at number 6 Convent Place, by the Chief Minister of the Rock, Fabian Picardo.

González attended that lunch in his capacity as a member of the Board of Directors of Boluda Corporación Marítima, chaired by Vicente Boluda Fos. Together with the businessman and the chief minister, he attended before lunch, at the Small Boats Marina in the port of Gibraltar, the baptism ceremony of the new tug VB Responder, with which Boluda Corporación Marítima intends to reinforce the company’s current fleet in the Strait of Gibraltar.

The former head of the Spanish Executive commented to those present that his visit to the Rock was not his first, since he was there during the years of the Gate’s closure, arriving by ferry from Tangier.

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not want to comment on the visit of former President González to Gibraltar in the midst of negotiations between the European Commission (EC) and the United Kingdom to try to reach an agreement on the status of the Rock after the departure of the British from the Union. European.
