The Embassy of El Salvador presents at Casa América next June 13th at 5.30pm the fashion show El Trabajo del Artesano Salvadoreño, presented by Artisan Collection + Capsula by Irene Castillo and Colección by Ingrid Valeriano.
This year, El Salvador will be presenting the third collection and again a fashion show, of recycled and ecological Salvadoran garments and accessories that show part of their culture. Collection created by 10 artisans from western El Salvador.
The collection is focused on highlighting this work, so it will be shown during the three blocks that make up the parade. It will show raw and lever weaving, waist weaving, natural dyes ranging from turmeric, Brazilian wood and indigo leaves and flowers on organic fabric.
The activity aims to promote the inclusion of Salvadoran women artisan designers and encourage their link with the world of fashion, through the promotion of their garments, thus strengthening the country’s image with high quality international products.
Luis Prados, Director of Programming at Casa de América; Joaquín Alexander Maza, Ambassador of El Salvador, and René Barrera, curator, will address the audience.
