From 5 to 8 June 2024, the third edition of the Festival will be held at the Instituto Francés and the Embajadores Cinemas. Under the slogan France is on Screen, it will introduce Spanish audiences to some of the most eagerly awaited premieres of French cinema.
The special feature of this event is that it will be attended, once again this year, by prestigious filmmakers and performers with whom spectators will have the opportunity to talk after the screenings in lively colloquiums.
This event, organised by the Cultural Service of the French Embassy, the Instituto Francés and Unifrance -the organisation responsible for the promotion of French cinema and audiovisuals around the world- will be supported, for the first time, by Cines Embajadores, a cinema with a strong commitment to the exhibition and distribution of auteur films.
Parallel activities such as the co-production workshop, which will take place at the Instituto Francés in Madrid, organised by its Spanish counterpart, the ICAA (Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales) and the CNC (Centre National du Cinéma Français), will also benefit from the event.
The aim of France is on Screen is to give visibility to contemporary French audiovisual creation in all its diversity by programming films of different genres, dealing with various societal issues, and aimed at all types of audiences, with a special interest in attracting young viewers. The annual festival provides an opportunity to discover the richness and potential of one of the most important cinematographies on the world scene.
Thus, in this third edition, films such as Niégalo siempre (Ivan Calbérac), in the photo, Daaaaaalí! (Quentin Dupieux), Sidonie en Japón (Elise Girard), Linda quiere pollo! (Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach) and Que la fiesta continúa (Robert Guédiguian) will be screened.
