Dutch Police officers have arrested a woman in the Netherlands for her alleged participation in the financing and preparation of the attack committed in Madrid on November 9 against Alejo Vidal-Quadras, former leader of the PP and co-founder of Vox.

According to Interior sources, the woman, a Dutch national, was arrested under a European arrest and surrender order issued by the Spanish authorities.

This is the fifth arrest within the framework of the investigation into the attack, which is carried out by the General Information Commissioner’s Office and instructed by the Central Investigative Court 5 of the National Court.

Until now, the last arrested person was Greg Oliver Higuera Marcano, a Venezuelan located on the Colombian border supposedly involved in the purchase of the motorcycle used in the attack and whose extradition the judge has requested.

The first three arrests occurred on November 21 in Spain: a couple in Lanjarón (Granada) and a young man in Fuengirola (Málaga). The man arrested in the Granada town was remanded in provisional prison, while the woman – of British origin – and the young man – also related to the motorcycle – were released.

Meanwhile, the search continues for the alleged perpetrator, Mehrez Ayari, 37, a French citizen of Tunisian origin with multiple records in France, his country of residence, and who is already subject to an international arrest warrant issued by the court of the National Court.

Vidal-Quadras, 78, was shot in the face around 1:30 p.m. on November 9, very close to his home, on Núñez de Balboa Street in Madrid.

The politician has always linked the attack with his criticism of the Ayatollah regime in Iran and in an appearance before the press, after recovering from the injuries suffered, he assured that he will not give up “his entire life” in his support for the Iranian opposition and asked more forceful measures to the European Union, such as closing the embassies and expelling the personnel that this country has deployed in the West.
