The Diplomat
Javier Milei has once again referred to Pedro Sánchez, days after the open conflict between Spain and Argentina, after the Argentine president described Begoña Gómez, wife of the head of the Spanish Executive, as “corrupt”.
Milei was participating on Wednesday in a talk at the Hoover Institute think tank at Stanford University in California, directed by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. There, he spoke of the “failure” of socialism, but indicated that 21st century socialism has been very successful in Latin America, because it has had a lot of presidents.
And so, he listed: “In Argentina he had four Kirchnerist periods, in Uruguay he has had Pepe Mujica; He has had Tabaré Vázquez in Chile, he has had Lagos, Bachelet twice; in Paraguay he has had Lugo; in Brazil they have had two governments of Lula and one of Dilma Rouseff; They have Petro in Colombia; They have had Castillo, in Peru; and López Obrador in Mexico; I don’t think I’ve forgotten any of them.”
And after a pause, he said: “And then in Spain, they have Pedro Sánchez…” And after some laughter from the audience, he added: “… who is something like a Kirchnerist, I wouldn’t say that he has good manners, because I don’t It has…”, words that were received with applause.
