At a crossroads between her duty and her personal life, Silvia, a sixty-year-old CNI spy, must face the difficult decision of separating from her partner, selling her house and preparing to welcome her daughter and grandson, who are about to return to Madrid from London. Just at this crucial moment, she is given a seemingly routine mission in North Macedonia, but it soon becomes the most dangerous of her career, as a case of industrial espionage soon becomes intertwined with an arms trafficking plot and a series of terrorist attacks in Vienna. In the course of her mission, Silvia retraces and discovers some of the steps taken as a young man by her father, a volunteer in the Blue Division, who experienced one of the decisive moments of his life in Austria. Learning about this element will allow her to see the figure of her father with different eyes.
Narrated in concise, straightforward prose, this espionage novel combines action with a penetrating psychological exploration, gripping the reader from the first lines to a dizzying and unpredictable denouement.
