The Palestinian people are facing one of the greatest crossroads in their contemporary history. After their territory underwent a radical geopolitical and demographic transformation in the 20th century, with the ethnic cleansing of three quarters of their population between 1947 and 1948, today they face the threat of massive forced displacement; in addition to being the object of a military campaign in which war crimes and crimes against humanity have been perpetrated, as well as possible genocide according to the International Court of Justice.
Israel’s behaviour is more typical of a pariah state that, paradoxically, enjoys impunity in the international system due to the support of the major Western powers, led by the US, UK and Germany. In addition to the potential destabilisation of the Middle East, all indications are that a turning point has been established that definitively buries the two-state solution upheld by most of the international community as the way to resolve this protracted colonial conflict. The Netanyahu government and its coalition allies intend to take advantage of this new juncture to impose their expansionist project, with the extension and normalisation of Israeli sovereignty over the entire territory between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, of a single ethnocratic and apartheid state. The event can be followed live on our Youtube channel.
