Yesterday, Monday, the exhibition Spaces and Identities. Other readings for the territory from the Museum of Cáceres, was presented at the Real Fábrica de Tapices of Madrid, in collaboration with the Museo de Cáceres and the Regional Government of Extremadura.
The exhibition, which will be open to the public until 30 August, brings together a selection of pieces from the ethnography and fine arts collections of the Museo de Cáceres, focusing on the most unique traditional clothing of the territory of Cáceres, which will immerse visitors in a unique journey through the landscape, tradition and customs of Extremadura. In addition, the exhibition will feature the presentation of some twenty works by the renowned photographer Jorge Armestar, who captures two emblematic intangible ethnographic expressions of the province of Cáceres.
The Museo de Cáceres is the only one in Extremadura that brings together in a single institution cultural testimonies of the history of the province, ranging from the first human presence, in the Palaeolithic period, to avant-garde and contemporary art. Since its beginnings, it has had the vocation of reflecting in its permanent exhibition an overview of the cultural heritage of the province.
