Canal Europa and the Association of European Journalists have organized for tomorrow, May 21, at 12:00 p.m., the debate of the candidates of the political parties that have been represented in the European Parliament in the 2019-2024 legislature.
The debate, which will take place in the Europe Room of the European Parliament Headquarters in Madrid, is an opportunity to debate European issues, from a journalistic point of view, where the different candidates can establish their positions on the major issues that They will mark the future of the next European legislature.
On June 9, Spaniards are called to vote in the elections to the European Parliament. Elections that take place in a geopolitical context of enormous uncertainty and with a European agenda full of challenges.
In this situation, it is of enormous importance to inform citizens of the different projects that each political formation offers to build a better Europe.
Representatives of the PP, PSOE, Ciudadanos, Sumar, Podemos, Vox, Esquerra Republicana and PNV will attend the debate, which will be moderated by the director of Aqui Europa and Canal Europa, Jesús González Mateos, and by Encarna Samitier, director of 20 Minutes.
During this meeting and questions will be addressed, topics such as “Europe in the world, security and defense”, “Democracy, rights and values”, “Sustainability and industrial competitiveness”, “What are we at stake in the European elections?” In addition, participants will have to answer three questions from journalists. Each candidate will have three minutes per block and one minute to answer each question from the journalists.
There will be no turn for replies given the number of participants and time limitation. They will also answer three questions from members of the Association of European Journalists.
The program will be broadcast by Canal Europa and by the media represented in the APE.
