Prominent representatives of the armed forces, the defense industry, the different State institutions, as well as independent analysts and experts will participate in the Breakfast Briefings on Security and Defense organized jointly by Grupo Prestomedia and Escudo Digital, with the collaboration of the Forum of Culture, Security and Defense (CFG), at the Génova Financial Club.
The first of these briefings will be held this Thursday, May 16, at 9:30 a.m., with the participation of Ambassador Nicolás Pascual de la Parte, who was permanent representative of Spain on the NATO Council, who will give the conference titled “The emerging disruptive technologies and their geostrategic impact.
This is the first of a series of meetings that will be held monthly and in which prominent experts will address not only the major Defense and Security issues of international geostrategy in a context of tensions and conflicts, but also the situation of our country, both at a military level as well as that of its defense industry.
Nicolás Pascual de la Parte will explain the importance that new technologies are having in the military field since the demonstration of technological and weapons superiority shown by the United States in the 1991 Gulf War, which marked a turning point in the affairs of the war and pointed to the application and fusion of emerging technologies and weaponry as the way forward for military victory on the future battlefield, on the one hand, and how to maintain (the US) or usurp (China, Russia ) world hegemony, on the other.
Since then, one of the most important ways that States have to seek or increase their military power and geopolitical weight is the development and research of new technologies for their implementation in security and defense, and that sometimes involves the discovery of some of a disruptive, which in certain cases could destabilize the security system, a government or even change the laws of war.
