Next Thursday at 5 p.m., the Museo de America (Avenida Reyes Católicos, 6) joins the celebration of Paraguay’s national holidays organised by the Embassy of the South American country, with the screening of the film Mangoré, por amor al arte, a film inspired by the life of the Paraguayan musical genius Agustín Pío Barrios Mangoré.
The Embassy invites you to share the joy of the Paraguayan people with the screening of a film that, for many, will give the opportunity to learn about the life of the legendary guitarist Mangoré, who was forced to choose between the love of his family and the love of music.
It is a journey into the depths of the soul of a bohemian and adventurous character, who created a true legend as a pretext to try to decipher one of the mysteries of life: that of creation.
In the film, the dramatic conflict that moves the mystery of creation is the fantasy of the confrontation between Barrios and Mangoré, between the man and the hero, between the everyday and the myth, between the real and the imaginary, between the citizen and the artist. Prior to the screening, the meaning of the film and its importance in the Paraguayan context will be explained to the audience.
Starring Damián Alcázar, Aparecida Petrowky, Joaquín Serrano, Celso Franco, Lali González and Fabián Gianola, among others, the film is produced by Leo Rubin and directed by Luis R. Vera. Free of charge. Limited capacity.
