The Israeli ambassador in Madrid, Radica Radian-Gordon, yesterday thanked the “public of Spain” for the support given to the song by Eda Golan, the Israeli representative in the Eurovision Song Contest held on Saturday in Malmö (Sweden).
On her social network X account, the ambassador wrote: “Thanks to the public in Spain who gave Eden Golan, Israel’s representative in Eurovision, the highest score: 12 points.” After the vote, Israel’s song came in fifth place.
The ambassador’s words come after, over the last few days, Sumar leaders have called for a boycott of Israel’s presence at the Festival.
The second vice president of the Government and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, stated on Saturday that she would study “the necessary measures” against RTVE, for “supporting” that Eurovision, which, in her opinion, should defend peace and diversity, becomes, in reference to Israel’s presence in “an act of propaganda in the midst of a genocide.”
