The director of the Carolina Foundation, Érika Rodríguez Pinzón, has made an institutional visit to Colombia to consolidate relations between the Foundation and the Latin American country, as well as to deepen the ongoing cooperation programs.

Colombia is one of the countries with the highest demand for scholarships in the Foundation’s postgraduate and doctoral programs, as well as for participants in visitor programs promoted by the institution’s Cooperation and Leadership area, as reported last Monday by the Carolina Foundation in a press release.

During her stay, which took place in the last week of April, the director held meetings with representatives of high Colombian institutions, such as the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ángela Yesenia Olaya; the Minister of Cultures, Arts and Knowledge, Juan David Correa; the Secretary of State for Culture, Jordi Martí Grau; and the Vice Minister of Higher Education, Alejandro Álvarez Gallego.

In addition, meetings were held with the main cooperation actors in the country, such as Nathali Gerbasi, director of Institutional Development and Training of the CAF; Dinorah Patricia Abadía Murillo, president of ICETEX; María Francisca Cepeda, head of the International Relations Office of ICETEX; Eleonora Betancur González, director of the Presidential Cooperation Agency of Colombia (APC); Andrea Albán, director of International Cooperation of the Colombian Foreign Ministry; Vicente Ortega, general coordinator of Spanish Cooperation in Colombia; and Joaquín de Arístegui Laborde, ambassador of Spain in Colombia.

Within the framework of the 20th anniversary of the Carolina Colombia Foundation and the visit of the new director of the Foundation, a meeting was organized at the Spanish Embassy in Colombia with former scholarship recipients of the Foundation. During this event, they had the opportunity to exchange experiences, learn about trajectories and delve deeper into the Carolina Network.

Finally, the visit also served to strengthen relations between the Carolina Foundation and the Carolina Colombia Foundation, with the official presentations of the new director and the management team of the Carolina Colombia Foundation: Carolina Olarte, director, and Daniel Haime Gutt, president of the institution.
