Representatives of the public and private sectors of Chile presented yesterday in Madrid the business and investment opportunities in the Andean country, on the occasion of the opening day of the Chile Summit Europe 2024 at the CEOE headquarters.
The event, in which nearly 300 representatives of institutions, business organizations and companies from Chile, Spain and the rest of Europe participated and which simultaneously combined a business meeting, presentations by experts from the Andean country and a business conference, is organized jointly by ProChile, CEOE and the Ibero-American Business Council-CEIB.
The first vice president of CEOE, Miguel Garrido, participated in the event; the vice president of CEOE and co-president of the Chile Spain Business Council, Gerardo Cuerva; the director of Relations with Ibero-America of CEOE and permanent secretary of CEIB, Narciso Casado; the Chilean ambassador to Spain, Javier Velasco; and the Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture of Chile, Ignacia Fernández, among others.
The meeting, as reported by the CEOE in a press release, served to “learn first-hand about the possibilities of collaboration and projects of interest in strategic sectors of the Chilean economy, such as sustainability, agribusiness, energy or mobility, among others. others”.
During the closing, ambassador Javier Velasco assured that “Chile is more than green hydrogen or lithium, it is certainty, trust and legal and public security.” “We can offer global alternatives, and that is what we want to promote through this unprecedented event, since Europe and Latin America can be the key to those solutions to face the current context of uncertainty,” he continued. “We want to encourage and promote innovation, production and talent acquisition, but we must offer tools from the public and private spheres to advance and promote progress. Let us offer hope from the strategic autonomy we create together,” he added.
