This week, the cultural counsellor of the Moroccan Embassy, Ahmed Ait Belaid, accompanied a select group of scientists from the Maghreb country to visit the facilities of the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid.
The group of scientists was received by Javier Moreno, vice-president of International Relations of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), María-Paz Martín, director of the Royal Botanical Garden (RJB), Sergio Pérez Ortega, head of the Mycology Department of the RJB, and Francisco Javier Fuertes Aguilar, head of the Biodiversity and Conservation Department of the RJB.
The invited scientists were able to enjoy a pleasant and curious walk contemplating the botanical and plant wealth of the Garden, guided by the excellent explanations of the staff of the institution, who were at their disposal at all times to answer any questions.
The guests were led by members of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation of Morocco, Sanaa Zebakh, Hamid Bouabid and Khalid Berrada, together with Jamila El Alami, director of the Moroccan National Centre for Scientific and Technological Research.
