Author: Carolina Carrillo de Albornoz.
Next Thursday at 7pm, the Casa Asia Centre-Madrid (Calle Mayor, 69) presents the book Un beso en Tokio, by Carolina Carrillo de Albornoz. Free activity with prior registration at this link.
The book tells how Kengo Ōe, a Japanese architect at the peak of his professional career, decides to break with everything to find the harmony and vital impulse he has lost. Throughout a vital and emotional journey, from China to Zimbabwe, his journey becomes a pilgrimage through the aesthetic universe of the 20th and 21st centuries that will allow him to rediscover desire and reflect on chance in our existence, on the complex nature of love and absence, on reality and dreams, the mystery of beauty, and, in short, on the invincible happiness of being.
Carolina Carrillo de Albornoz is a former United Nations diplomat (UNESCO and UNDP) in Switzerland and France, and currently works as an independent art curator in major museums around the world. Her work has appeared since 1992 in publications such as the Spanish, Italian, German and Mexican editions of Vogue; The Art Newspaper, The European and The Observer in the UK; in Beaux Arts and L’OEil in France; in La Repubblica in Italy.
