Tomorrow Tuesday at 12 noon, in the auditorium of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando (Calle de Alcalá 13), the Korean Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea presents a new season of the Classical Music Series Korea 2024 with the outstanding performance of the Korean pianist Jinhyung Park, in collaboration with the Royal Academy.
Jinhyung Park was recently awarded first prize at the acclaimed Jaén Competition, demonstrating his extraordinary talent. As for the artist himself, he has emerged as one of the most promising figures on the music scene in his country. He studied at Yonsei University with Professor Ian Yungwook Yoo and is currently continuing his master’s studies at the University of Music, Theatre and Media in Hannover with Professor Arie Vardi. Her first recital was in 2009, in the programme of the Kumho Prodigy Concert.
After her debut, she has participated in numerous solo recitals, both at home and abroad, including the Prague Spring Festival in 2017. As a pianist, he has won recognition in competitions worldwide, including in Spain, where he was awarded first prize at the highly prestigious International Piano Competition “Premio Jaén” in 2023.
In addition, the artist also won the first place at the prestigious M.K. Čiurlionis International Piano Competition, a remarkable achievement as the first Korean artist to receive such an award. This historic milestone is not only a great recognition of his exceptional talent and skills, but also a source of pride for the South Korean music scene.
The concert programme will consist of Ludwig van Beethoven’ s Piano Sonata No. 26 in E flat major, Op. 81st and Piano Sonata No. 28 in A major, Op. 101, and Franz Liszt’s Wiegenlied, S.198 and Sonata in B minor, S.178.
The series will continue with a second concert in November, featuring two artists, the cellist Woongwhee Moon and the pianist Daniel Delgado, from South Korea and Spain, respectively. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.
