Next Tuesday, April 9, at 8 p.m., the Inetituto Rumano de Cultura opens the 14th Romanian Film Festival at the Sala Azcona of Cineteca Madrid (Plaza de Legazpi, 8), with the film MMXX in the presence of its prestigious Romanian director Cristi Puiu, promoter of the New Wave of Romanian cinema and winner at the Cannes Film Festival.
Cristi Puiu will also give a master class on Wednesday, 10 April, at 4 p.m., at the ECAM (C. de Juan de Orduña, 3, 28223 Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid).
The 14th Romanian Film Festival will close on 14 April, at 8 p.m., in the Sala Azcona of Cineteca Madrid, with the screening of the film Nu aștepta prea mult de la sfârșitul lumii / Don’t expect too much from the end of the world, by director Radu Jude.
This year, in addition to the 5 contemporary films, the Institute proposes a documentary film section with three films by director Andrei Ujică, as part of the commemoration of 35 years since the fall of communism: Out of the Present, Saturday, 13 April, 6pm, Sala Plató; Videograms of a Revolution, Saturday, 13 April, 8pm, Sala Azcona, and Autobiography of Nicolae Ceaușescu, Sunday, 14 April, 6pm, Sala Plató.
For the little ones, the film Străjerii Deltei / The Sentries Of The Delta directed by Liviu Marghidan will be screened on Sunday, 14 April, at 12 noon, Sala Azcona. All films will be screened in Romanian with Spanish subtitles (VOSE). All the programme of the Festival can be consulted at this link.
