This evening at 7 p.m., the book La última lección de Manuel Azaña, by Fernando Álvarez-Uría (Pola de Siero, 1947), Professor of Sociology at the Complutense University of Madrid, will be presented in the Sala de Juntas of the Círculo de Bellas Artes.
The author takes as his starting point Azaña’s lament, from his exile in France, at the supposed political incapacity of the Spanish people to build a stable democratic state by common agreement.
Following the path traced by Azaña in his writings, Álvarez-Uría traces the unthinkable in our political life in order to shed light on the challenges of our present and to propose progressive alternatives for difficult times. Antonio García Santesmases, Elena Hernández Sandoica and Jaime Pastor, together with the author, will take part in the presentation. Moderated by Paulo Cosín. Free admission until full capacity is reached.
