Until 15 April, the foyer of the School of Art in the town of Talavera de la Reina (Calle Segurilla, 1) is hosting the exhibition Historias de amor (Love Stories), by the artist Ana Crespo, born in Madrid and adopted from Talavera de la Reina.
The exhibition, as the author explained, brings together different projects whose theme is centred on the playful and vital legacy of certain singular figures, a journey through different projects by the artist, through a large part of the world. “I try to transmit an immense heart with a lot of passion, which does not understand individuality and understands the world as a single organism”, said Ana Crespo.
Ana Crespo, a doctor in Fine Arts and a multidisciplinary artist, has an extensive exhibition career, which began in Europe almost forty years ago, which she combines with her work as a teacher of Colour and Graphic Techniques.
In 1992, Ana Crespo came across Sufi poetry, which led to intense artistic research and a series of trips to the Middle East. From this fascination, in addition to 3 books, articles and conferences, more than 30 series or artistic projects have emerged. The first, Alquimia del corazón, 1993, and more recently, Una historia de amor or Una escala de luz para Federico, on a universal gnosis present in the work of García Lorca, exhibited at Casa Árabe, or on the Feminine Principle and Water, at the National Gallery and at the International University of Sarajevo.
