On 18 March, the Embassy of Ecuador and Planeta Formación y Universidades presented in Barcelona the second edition of the programme of study grants for Ecuadorians living in Spain.
The study grants programme is part of the Cooperation Protocol signed between the Embassy and Planeta Formación y Universidades on 7 September 2022. In this call 230 grants are offered to access courses of: Vocational Training (VET), Continuing Education, Degrees, Postgraduate and Doctorate.
The presentation ceremony of this new edition of grants was chaired by José Creuheras, president of Grupo Planeta, and by the ambassador of Ecuador, Wilma Andrade. The CEO of Planeta Formación y Universidades, Carlos Giménez, and the Ecuadorian ambassador signed an addendum to the agreement, by which both parties undertake to continue promoting access to higher education for Ecuadorians in Spain who stand out for their academic merits. The event was also attended by the Consul of Ecuador in Barcelona, Patricio Garcés, and Borys Mejías, Director of Pro Ecuador in Spain.
Ambassador Wilma Andrade thanked Planeta Formación y Universidades for its commitment to Ecuador and its migrants: “President Daniel Noboa firmly believes that education and academic training are the right path to security and development. From the Embassy we will spread the word about this programme to make it a success,” he emphasised.
For Carlos Giménez, CEO of Planeta Formación Universidades, “the implementation of this type of initiative shows the real commitment of Planeta Formación and Universidades to people and their training. For us it is a great satisfaction to be able to help all Ecuadorian residents living in our country, encouraging them to continue improving their academic education and training for their professional future”.
The study grants programme includes three types: 1) those that cover 100% of the cost of training; 2) those that cover 75%; and 3) those that cover 50% of the cost of training.
The call for applications for these grants opened on Tuesday 19 March and will close on 30 June 2024. Students can apply online through this website.
