On Sunday 7 April at 12.30 p.m., the young Polish-Spanish pianist Wiktor Gasior will give a concert at the Centro Cultural Gilitos (Calle Padre Llanos, 2) in Alcalá de Henares, sponsored by the Polish Embassy and organised by the “Isolda” Cultural Association.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Poland and the Kingdom of Spain were re-established 105 years ago and this musical event, entitled Poland and Spain, friendly countries, is being held to mark the occasion.
The concert will begin with an Allegro and Tempo di marziale from Paderewski’ s Suite in G major for strings, followed by a performance of Chopin’s Concerto No. 1 Op. 11 for piano and orchestra (arrangement for strings by Richard Hofmann) by Wiktor Gasior.
From the same centuries is the selection of Spanish music, which will be well represented by Joaquín Rodrigo and the nationalist romantics Enrique Granados and Isaac Albéniz.
Fryderyck Chopin (175th anniversary of his death) and Ignaz Jan Paderewski are the leading exponents of Polish music of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Wiktor Gasior is a young pianist born in Madrid in 2006, with Polish nationality. At the age of four, he began studying music at Juventudes Musicales de Alcalá de Henares-Musicaeduca. In 2016 he entered the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Alcalá de Henares, where Mendmaa Dorzhin Madasova became his piano tutor.
In 2019 she finished her Elementary Studies with Honours in Piano and the Extraordinary Prize at the end of her Elementary Studies Degree. In the year 2023 she concluded her studies having completed the 6 intermediate courses in only 4 professional years at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Amaniel in Madrid with the highest qualifications, under the tutelage of Mendmaa Dorzhin Madasova. In all the courses in a row, he obtained the highest honours.
He has been awarded in more than thirty national and international competitions in countries such as Mongolia, Russia, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Spain, USA, Canada, Denmark, United Kingdom. He has also participated in different music festivals in Germany and Switzerland.
In January 2023 she played a piano recital sponsored by the First Lady of the Republic of Poland, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, organised by the Pegaz Association, in collaboration with the City Council of Alcalá de Henares.
