The Diplomat
The ambassador-director of the Diplomatic School, Santiago Miralles, and the first vice president of the Madrid Press Association, Luis Ayllón, closed last Thursday the VII Specialization Course in Diplomacy and International Relations for journalists, in which around thirty participated of professionals.
Organized jointly by the Diplomatic School and the Madrid Press Association (APM), prior to the delivery of diplomas, a debate took place in which Lucía Abellán, editor-in-chief of International at El País, and Víctor García Guerrero, reporter of Internationao Affairs at TVE.
For three weeks, the APM member journalists have had the opportunity to delve deeper into the way in which Spain’s foreign policy is executed; the communication plans of the Embassies; the mission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain; the question of Western Sahara; Spain’s position in current conflicts such as those in Ukraine and Gaza; or relations with Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, Sub-Saharan Africa or Asia Pacific, among other topics.
In its seventh edition, coordinated by the deputy director of the Diplomatic School, Ricardo Añino, the course included interventions by officials from different areas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the students were received by the German ambassador in Madrid, Margarete Gosse, at her home.
