This evening at 7pm, Casa Asia in Madrid (Palacio de Cañete, Calle Mayor, 69) presents a performance and recital by the actress and poet Yan Huang, with the presentation of her collection of poems Growing like wild grasses.
In this meeting, organised together with the Centro Cultural de Experimentación y Documentación Artística La Parcería, there will be an opportunity to discuss the creative processes of people who have migrated to Spain and decided to write in a language other than their mother tongue. From his experience, Yan Huang will talk about what it means to create from that place where the language changes and how it transforms the thinking itself, not only of the writer but also of the reader and listener.
The session will include a recital by Yan, who will activate his poems through performance and take the audience with his voice and movements to those worlds of wakefulness, doubt and poetry.
Emilio de Miguel, director of the Casa Asia Centre-Madrid, will give a welcoming speech, and Silvia Ramírez, editor, La Parcería edita, will participate along with Yan Huang. Free admission with prior registration.
