Contemporary art exhibition at Instituto Rumano de Cultura

This evening at 7 p.m. at the headquarters of the Instituto Rumano de Cultura in Madrid (Plaza del Cordón, n.º1, bajo dcha.), the exhibition of contemporary Romanian art Tocados por el mar, a special artistic event included in the 43rd edition of the International Art Fair ARCOMadrid 2024, will be inaugurated. The exhibition is a collaboration with WIN Gallery under the auspices of the Romanian Embassy.

The event will be attended by artists Marinela Măntescu-Isac and Anka Moldovan, and Irina Stoenescu, Vice President WIN Alliance / Chairlady WIN Gallery. The exhibition is included in the GUEST and COLLECTORS category in the “More Contemporary Art in Madrid” section of ARCOMadrid and will be part of the exhibition circuit linked to the art fair. The exhibition will be on show until the 25th of March.

On display will be 39 works in oil on canvas by the artists Daniela Grapa, Marinela Măntescu-Isac (curator of the exhibition), Laurențiu Midvichi, Marcel Lupșe, Lisandru Neamțu, Flora Răducan, Constantin Pacea and Corneliu Drăgan Târgoviște. As a guest artist, Anka Moldovan presents the painting entitled Earth, an oil painting with raspberry branches (2023) from her latest series That Which Bursts In.

Touched by the Sea is an exhibition of paintings featuring well-known contemporary Romanian artists exploring the literal and metaphorical connotations of the relationship between water, land and man. Imagination is the perpetuum mobile of humanity, a constant exercise of seeing and envisioning. Like a primordial seed of all that is good and all that is bad, it blossoms differently according to character and culture and, distilled in art, shapes worlds – inner and outer.

On the other hand, the Romanian galleries IVAN from Bucharest and ZINA Gallery from Cluj-Napoca have been invited by the Organising Committee to participate in the 43rd edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair ARCO 2024, to be held from 6 to 10 March 2024, in halls 7 and 9 of IFEMA.

The two galleries have the support of the Instituto Rumano de Cultura of Madrid to present works by artists Ion Grigorescu (IVAN Gallery, in the General Programme, show only category) and Codruța Cernea, Lorena Cocioni and Thea Lazăr (ZINA Gallery in the “Opening” section).
