Palacio de la Prensa cinemas in Madrid were chosen by the Australian Embassy , together with More Sauce and Visit Valencia, to present the world premiere of UnCANCELLED, starring Luke Eve and Maria Albiñana, the Valencian-Australian couple who have captivated people around the world with their unique love story following the CANCELLED and ReCANCELLED series.
In March 2020, the pandemic changed Luke and Maria’s wedding plans, but out of adversity came creativity. Inspired by their situation, they created CANCELLED, a fictional series filmed on a mobile phone that immediately captivated audiences, earning millions of views and dozens of awards and nominations. With the arrival of Maria’s pregnancy, ReCANCELLED was born , a second season that surpassed even the success of its predecessor. Now, the protagonists make the leap to the big screen with UnCANCELLED, a romcom that fuses reality and fiction in the vibrant city of Valencia.
This project represents a unique opportunity to strengthen cultural ties and build bridges between Australia and Spain. Despite the thousands of kilometres that separate the two countries, the film shows that the connections and human experiences we share, such as love, resilience, and even humour, go far beyond geographical borders.
